After myocarditis, returning to racing was only the first step. One year later, I made a decision that changes the direction of my career.
One year ago I uploaded the first video on my YouTube channel.
At that time I had just come back from myocarditis and I didn’t even know if I would be able to compete again.
That uncertainty is what led me to start a project called “From Zero to America.”
The idea was simple: document the process of rebuilding myself as an athlete.
Training. Racing. Progress. Doubts.
Everything that happens between being forced to stop and trying to find your place again in sport.
What happened in the past year
Over the past twelve months a lot has happened.
I managed to return to my level on the road and win races again. That part of the journey went better than I expected.
But on the track, things didn’t go exactly as planned.
For a while I asked myself a simple question:
Is it time to move on from track cycling?
The decision
Instead of leaving the track, I decided to take a different path.
After years as an endurance rider, I’m now transitioning to sprint.
It’s not just a change of discipline.
It means a different physiological profile, different training, and a completely different type of performance.
In many ways, it means starting again from the beginning.
From Zero Again
Starting from zero is something most athletes experience maybe once in their career.
I didn’t expect to do it twice in two years.
But this time it’s a conscious choice.
The past months have already started to look different: more gym work, new track sessions, and a completely new long-term objective.
The process will take time.
But if endurance sport teaches you anything, it’s that progress rarely happens in straight lines.
Sometimes the only way forward is to rebuild.
This is the beginning of a new chapter.
From Zero. Again.
I explain the whole transition and the reasoning behind this decision in the video below.
