My name is Francesca Selva, and cycling has been the common thread of my life since I was a child.
It has never been just a sport, but the language through which I learned to understand myself, my body, my work, time, and the people around me.
I grew up in a competitive environment shaped by training, travel, sacrifice, and constant goals to chase. Over time, I realised that what truly drives me is not performance alone, but the meaning behind every gesture, every choice, and every path taken.
Today, I am a professional cyclist and a creative working with communication and visual storytelling.
I experience cycling both from the inside — as an athlete — and from the outside, by observing it, translating it, and turning it into stories, images, and projects. This dual perspective has become a defining part of who I am.
I am drawn to everything that exists between action and narration:
the moments before a race, the tension behind the scenes, the invisible work that builds a result, and the way sport can become a cultural, educational, and deeply human tool.
Photography and media are a natural extension of this journey. They allow me to slow movement down, give context to emotions, and create connections between different worlds: sport, people, and audiences.
This website was created to bring all of this together.
Not as a record of results, but as a space where sport, communication, and personal vision meet.
If you’d like to explore my professional work, you can visit the Projects section.
If you’re interested in following my journey more closely, I continue to share it through the Blog.
